Some folks will question, "isn't all prayer effective?" Quite frankly, I tend to believe the
vast majority of prayer is never heard by God. And just how am I able to even suggest
such blasphemy? It's not me that's suggesting, and it's anything but a suggestion:
Psalm 34:17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them...
1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer
Proverbs 15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous
James 1:16 The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective
When someone offers to pray for me, my first reaction is to thank them. Following closely is wondering if God even hears their prayer. Make no mistake, God doesn't obligate himself to answer every prayer sent his way. If you live outside of God's will, your prayer is probably an exercise in futility. What is God's will?
